Better Late than Never!

Things have become more and more busy in my life, and I have not had much time to catch up on my blog. So...I am going to try to cram it all in while I have a day off!
On October 25th, my mom, Kayla, Bree and I took a "girls weekend," and went to St. George to see "Thriller" at the Tuichan. We had so much fun! My favorite thing in the whole world is just to spend fun, quality time with the fam! It's so much fun to get together and giggle, drink gallons of diet coke, jump on the hotel beds, and shop!

Bree came up with the cutest idea. We all had to come up with our "favorite things," and get it for everyone. When we got to the hotel we exchanged our bags, and it was so much fun to see what everyone had chose and why.

This is all of us wearing our new comfy slippers...

Side-sweeping Bandit

Evel Kneivel

Soaring Pocahontas

Herkying Hercules

We decided to go into this place called "Orange Peel" where they have the best smoothies, and bumble teas in the world! They make all of their smoothies non-dairy, and the bumble tea smoothies have tapioca "things" in the bottem! The manager recommended some different flavors for us to try, so we took it upon ourselves to buy all the flovors she had said! They were to die for. I got the "Green Machine" which is made of avacodo, green tea, and vanilla. It sounds gross, but I loved it so much I drank Bree's too!

Now that is one happy clan! We decided to get a quick pic before we headed to the musical.

AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODELS
Bree and I fell in love with these sweaters so we thought we would each get one so that we could be twinners! Of course we had to whip out our model faces to get the best picture!

Waiting for "Thriller" to start! Notice, I was not about to sit on either end of the row. They had these zombies hobbling around, and they would come up and sit right next to you. They don't even crack a smile! Ahhhhhh... I know its just characters, but man were they freaky!

This is the one-and-only Lorena Bobbet! She was hilarious. You have to go next year just to see her! She is a great singer, comedian, and actress! Loved it!

Some of the cast. They did such an awesome job. We are going to make it tradition to go every year!

Well, that is some of our MANY pictures of our wonderful trip. It was good to get away and have some fun with the girls! I have the best mom and sisters who can all let loose and have a good time. Being silly is what we do best! I love you guys and thank you for the fun trip!

Allee Kendree Sorensen

We just wanted to say congratulations to Brok and Anne on their new little addition. Allee was born on October 3 weighing in at 7lbs 12oz, and she is 20 inches long. She is absolutely beautiful! I just love that she has a head full of hair, and how she has her little tongue poking out in most of her pictures! Gotta love a girl with personality:) We are so glad that everything went smoothly, and we cannot wait to see the baby. Love you guys!

Pumpkin Patch

Hip Hip Hooray! We love field trips!
I have had the time of my life working in the Kindergarten with Mrs. Jensen and her mom Mrs. Otten! We have the cutest little kids, and it has been so fun getting to know each one of them.
Last Friday, we took a trip to the Beck Family Farms to see all of their many kinds of pumpkins. I, probably more than the kindergarten kids, was in awe over all of the different sizes, shapes, and colors. After they took us on a little tour, the kids got to go out in the fields and pick their own pumpkins to take home! It was so cute to watch them outside of school.
Arleen and I riding on the bus.

My mom, me, Fee-Fi-Fo and Fum, Jack, and Wendy! (seriously that is what they named the pumpkins, scarecrow and witch!)

My Class! Aren't they cute? Lori had them yell "Happy Halloween" for pictures. That explains why all of their mouths are open! ha ha

"Salina-ites"

Isn't it funny how things almost NeVeR end up as originally planned? Dustin and I always said the closest we wanted to live to home was Payson or Cedar City! My...how plans have changed!
For those of you who read my last post, the "Finding a Home Project" is now going in our favor. After weeks of counter-offering back and forth with the home-owners, we have came to an agreement on a price! Now, all we need to do is decide which loan we want to go with, and get in that darn house!!! I am so excited to finally get a place of our own that we can call "home!" At one point, I thought being transients was going to be our way of life...FOREVER!
I am so excited that we are going to be next-door-neighbors with Dustin's parents, and a skip, hop, and a jump away from my parents! We love spending our time with family, and this is very convenient. And for those who have rented for a while and finally got a place to live, know how a feel when I say...I cannot wait to be able to use our furniture that has sat in storage since the day we got married! Yippidy-do-da-day!!!
We cannot wait to get in the house, and as soon as we do.........we would love to have tons and tons of VISITORS!

btw, sorry I still have no pics! I will put some on soon.......very soon!

Update!

Dustin and I have been keeping busy since we have been home from Texas! I started work two days after we got home, and after a week of boredom Dustin joined me in the working department! We really have had such a great time, and we have loved getting to spend time with our families! Here's a little bit of what we have been up to:

House Hunting...Ugh!Dustin and I have been trying to find a house to buy since the market is low, and we will be attending Snow for a couple more years. Dustin (cross your fingers) has 98.8%decided to be a Radiology Technician! Now, plans could change, but as of now that is what we are aiming for! He can do most of his schooling at Snow and the USU extension. So...looks like we won't have to move for a while!!!

Work
I have been working at Gunnison Elementary since September 2, and I recently just started working at Homespun Love! I absolutely love both jobs! I am in the Kindergarten teaching reading and math, and I tutor the last 2 hours of the day. My mom, Grandma Linda, and Aunt MerriLynn and I all work at the elementary together. It's like a family reunion every day!
Dustin has also been working to keep busy. He works with our brother-in-law Bill at Hill Heating and Air-Conditioning in Gunnison. They travel around cleaning furnaces and installing them!

Well, that is all we have been up to! If something exciting happens I will be sure to keep you posted!

Congratulations....(late)!

To my mom and Jerry! They were sealed in the Manti temple on August 22nd! They have been waiting a long time for this, and I am so happy the day finally came. I know they are perfect together and they will have an eternity of happiness! We love you Mamma Urs and Jer Bear!!!

Slacking...

I just wanted to quickly tell everyone that I have not abandoned my blog! Dustin and I are both staying busy working and trying to find a house, so I won't be able to update pictures for a while. My mom's desktop isn't as easy to upload pictures on with a memory card so...I will have to wait for the laptop:( I am, however, enjoying everyones new posts and its good to see you are all doing great! Thanks tons!!!

Yay for Cole and Heather!!!!

I am a little late posting this, because I have been back and forth the past two weeks between Utah and Texas getting things ready to move home! Thank goodness we are finally home, and I can get back to blogging!
The day before Cole and Heather moved back, they surprised us with some great news...they are having a BABY!!! We couldn't believe they waited 4 1/2 months before telling us. We are so excited for them, and they are going to be fabulous parents! We cannot wait until the little one arrives!!!

Congratulations Barclay Family

Dustin and I are so happy for our friends, John and Markell. They welcomed a new baby girl, Kaydence, on August 29th. She is such a beautiful baby, and we are so glad everyone is healthy and happy.

Goodbye Texas...Hello Utah!

Dustin and I are packin' up and movin' on home! What a great summer we had! We are definitely going to miss that scorching heat, and those crazy storms...NOT! But, really, we will miss Texas. We had so much fun getting to know so many new people and making life-long friendships. Dustin has done so well, and I am so incredibly proud of him! He is an amazing husband and he works so hard to make it possible for us to live a stress-free life financially! He always gives 100% to everything that he does. He is such a geat example to me, and inspires me to my best in all I do!

Now, lets have a little fun...together! I have had so many fun experiences here in Texas, and I am able to do some regular summertime activities. Dustin, on the other hand, has to put things like: Four-wheeling, fishing with Brady, spending time at the cabin with Grandpa, going to my parents' cabin, swimming, Lake Powell, wake-boarding...aside for four months. Now, we wanna cram some of those things in before the snow starts comin' in!

Love Ya'll:)

Yay for Photography!!!

As most of you know, and for those who don't, I am so excited to get started on my photography. I am getting the Nikon d300 as soon as I get home!!! (in 6 days!!!) I have always been intrigued with photographs that are artsy and really unique. I have so many sights that I love to look at, and I hope that my work is just as impressive! I got my new Digital Photography book today in the mail! I am so excited to learn the little secrets to great photographs...

BJ's Pizza

Today all the wifey's got together for lunch at BJ's Pizza since Liz leaves for home tomorrow. It was so yummy. They serve deep dish pizza's in so many incredible flavors! After Pizza, Tiff and I shared a Pazookie for dessert. Everyone laughed cause we practically inhaled it. We were like,"Hey we are magic, it's gone!" ha ha. It was so much fun to get out and hang with the girls. Thanks guys!

Playing for Pizza

Thanks to my Aunt Merri Lynn... I am now addicted to my book: "Playing for Pizza," by John Grisham! It is out of his normal realm of fiction and non-fiction mysteries. It is actually kind of funny, and you cannot help but feel so bad for the main character Rick Dockery! I have enjoyed getting out of my Twilight phase for a minute, and taking the time to read something else. It has been a nice change, but I must admit, I am so excited to finish the 3rd and 4th books of Twilight! Yahoo! But, I best get back to my book! Thanks Merri Lynn!

HaPpY BiRtHdAy MoM

Today is my mom's birthday. She is the greatest mom, and I love her so much! We have been through so much together, and all of our ups and downs have only made us closer and stronger! I always have admired the person that my mom is, and I hope that I can one day be as great of a mother and wife as she has been. I have so much to learn, but there is no better example than my mom.
As most of you know, she isn't your typical mother... She is a little bit more on the energetic side,(I like to just call it Adult ADD!) to put it mildly! She used to get so aggitated if we were just sitting around watching t.v or being lazy that she would beg us to go toilet papering. Or, she would do things like, on the way home from Grandma's stop in the middle of the road and do a "chinese fire drill." Soon it became: indian fire drills, cowboy fire drills, japanese fire drills, ect... She just thought it was funny that we would do anything she said. She also, numerous times, would walk home from my Grandmas house who lives in Axtell. Or...if we were in the mountains, we always had to stop while she ran up and down a mountain! Not a hill, a MOUNTAIN! Wow! She made me tired just watching her most of the time. She got enough exersise in for the whole fam!!! Her grandkids just love her, because she is just as active and hyper as they are. She is always willing to pretend with them, and it only broadens their imagination!
As you can see, she is such a fun, energetic, and loving mother, grandmother, and wife! I am so proud to have her as my mom! I love you Mom, and Happy Birthday!!!

The Dallas World Aquarium

Yesterday, Tiff and I decided to take a day, and go to Dallas to see the Dallas World Aquarium. We stopped at the mall first to grab a bite to eat (and, ok...we might have shopped) at the Le Madeleine! It was so yummy. We also grabbed a carameled apple and some chocolate from the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory!Mmmmm After spending a good 3 hours at the mall, Tiff and I decided it was getting late and we should probably get to the aquarium before it closed! Dustin and Zach would have killed us if we went all the way there and only went to the mall!!!
The Aquarium was so neat, we couldn't believe how everything was so open. It was amazing seeing all of those creatures so close to us. The manatees and the sloth were our faves! It only took us about an hour to see the aquarium, and then off to the mall, again... I got my eyebrows done at this place called Boeau Belle. It is the coolest thing EVER, and it is only $10! Until moving to Texas, I had NEVER seen this sort of thing before. (the girl who did them, said it started in Lebenon where she is from) The lady has this long peice of thread...she somehow has a peice in her mouth and in both hands. Then, she moves the thread a certain way so that it plucks the hair right out of your face. ANYWHERE! She did a demo on my upper eyebrow and it was so clean and smooth that I had to get the bottom half done too! I loved it, and my eyebrows have never looked so good! Thanks Riham! (ha ha, her name was on my receipt!)
Well, I forgot to mention one thing! Tiff and I somehow missed 3 whole floors of the aquarium! HOW??? It cost us $20, and we missed that much!!! We ended up the gift shop, so we have no idea how it happened. But Sadie asked us if we loved how the sharks swam around us, and if we saw the jaguar,...Uh...what sharks, and there was a jaguar??? So, needless to say, we will probably be taking another trip back with the hubbies since we missed the best part!
