Getting to know...Mwa!

I don't think I've ever done this? Have I? I don't know that anyone is interested in it, but I finally have a minute while I am at work (had the busiestest morning ever), and thought I'd blog. Fun huh?! My Saturday's are a day for me to study, but I just finished up some stuff, and need a breather. I'd say that's fair.

1. I'm 150%, utterly and completely, full -fledged family person. Most people are right? Well, I swear that's all that has ever been on my mind. Even as a young one I was mainly interested in playing house and scoping out future prospects to marry. For real. Sounds a little mature for a tiny-tot, but I have always been an "old soul" at heart. I'm a hopeless romantic. I love chick-flicks, romantic gestures from the hubs, and we always have been super good at talking A LOT, which usually ends up in deep conversation about our future or what we love about our lives, marriage, and family. We are sappy. And I'm ok with it.

2. I go by feelings..not so much logic. Luckily Dustin is the more logical one out of the two of us, because considering my feelings get the best of me, I can be impulsive at times. This goes for everything. I judge (for lack of better wording) whether or not I like someone by the way they make me feel. I avoid people that have a certain demeanor that makes you want to run for the hills. Gossipy, above-all, negative people. We all know some, but boy do I wish I didn't. Therefore, if I have people like this in my life, I am really good at staying away. Life is to be enjoyed, and I won't waste time on people that make me unhappy, and you shouldn't either. I'm a stickler on this. Now, on the other hand, those people that I feel good around, I will forever love. I can be such a lovey person, and find that I say "i love you" in my texts to my friends and family all of the time. I'm so afraid of having that regret of never telling people if something were to happen, that I say it alot. ... And I like to hug. Yep, I do. I greet with a hug, and say goodbye with a hug.

3. I've became a whole new person this year. It's true. I really really have. What changed me you might ask? Therapy. And I am SO not ashamed of it. Without it, I'd still be battling with my head, and you all know from previous posts that it got the best of me. You know, those ones where I complained and "vented" and it never went away...ya those! Anywho. Turns out that I was suffering from anxiety, and PTSD. I was having panic attacks nightly, and my cup was just overflowing with stuff. I was a new mom, going through school, and dealing with this crappy baggage. All of which was taken care of. I don't wish to ellaborate on the fine details, but lets just say that talking to someone can make a world of difference. And through this process, I am far more aware of the "real" me. Not the me that I thought I "should" be or "needed" to be, but the me that is genuine and natural. It's so liberating. I feel rejuvinated, and like I can conquer anything, and at the same time, enjoy myself. I'm a better wife and mother, and I think that through all of this, it really strengthened mine and Dustin's marriage. He saw me at my worst, and he was beyond amazing the entire time.

4. On a lighter note, I bath 3 times a day. Sometimes more. Am I dirty? Nope. Sick? Nope. Just love to bath. I relax the very best when I am submerged in warmth and quietness. I dump some Dr. Teal's in the tub, grab a book or the iPad and have a moment of nothingness. It seriously keeps me going. And want to know something weird? If I study in the tub, I do SO much better. Not like write stuff down study, but go over notes and stuff like that. So, before a test, I bath. It works, I'm telling ya!

5. And some random things: I like to draw, I love handwriting, hearing new names is a top fave too (I used to write them down when I was younger, sometimes still do), I love Saltine crackers and of course soda, I love "feel good" ideas like stuff for make-up, hair, clothing, the house...ya know, anything that brings about a fun new change. Speaking of change, I love change. A few more...getting addicted to a good tv series, veggin' out all day long, like days where you stay in pj's, don't comb your hair or put make-up on, the best! Music is must for me. It seriously has a way of making me feel so good. I listen to The Pulse on my xm...sometimes I change it to 80's or 90's, stuff I grew up listening to. I have a good day when my house is clean and organized, and I sleep so much better too. And, oddly enough, I think caffeine makes me sleepy.

Now, if that wasn't randomness at it's finest, I don't know what is.

P.S. These 3 below, are coming down tonight. I can't wait.

How cute is this pic? I love them!

A little story I never wanna forget.

At this age, Jaiya says some hilarious things. This one in particular, is one I find myself telling strangers just because every time I tell it, I'm instantly happier!

I made dinner a few nights ago, it was just Jaiya and I, and I had just sat Jaiya at the table so I could dish up our plates. As my back was turned I hear Jaiya yelling, " A mouse mom! A mouse! A mouse! Look a mouse!"

As I am walking over to the table I reply,  "What? A mouse? Seriously?" As I get closer and see what she's pointing at, I start laughing and say, " Jaiya, you silly girl, that's not a mouse,it's a FLY! Remember, you know what a fly is?"

She looks puzzled, "A fly?"

Me, " yep, it's just a fly..."

And my favorite response, " Pop it Mama! Pop it!!!"

I love this age. Well, I love every age, but these conversations are what life is all about!

Now this...is country livin'

It's September. How crazy is that? The term "time flies" is an understatement. I swear Summer just started?!

Anywho, I am finally posting some pics from our trip to my dad's.
Here's the low-down:
Dad lives far away.
But not too far to visit.
I have only been a couple times and feel SUPER guilty for that.
With time, I have decided that I NEED to get out there more often.
Jaiya needs it too.

So, Dustin and I whipped out the calender a couple months ago, and in a 16 week period, the only weekend we had off of work at the same time turned out to be in the middle of August. We let dad know, and he said it was go on their end as well. We were going. NO MATTER WHAT.

It was a quick trip. I worked that Friday til 5pm, so we packed up the car and hit the road by 6. We figured it made more sense to get their late, than to spend half of Saturday driving 5 hours, and then coming home Sunday.

Dad and Kathy live on a ranch between Wells, NV, and Twin Falls, ID. That's the best I can do as far as a location goes. Oh, actually, it's 22 miles on the dot from Wells. Dad even told me to clock it in the car so I'd know when to turn. So, once you've gone 22 miles away from civilization, you hang a right and go another 6 on a dirt road. This doesn't sound as treacherous as it is when in a Mazda 6. I laughed the entire time. We looked like a bunch of idiots. Dad met us at the highway so we didn't start heading off in some random direction, (which we would have, oh wait, we DID! Even with his help!) Turns out a big heavy truck does a lot better than a sedan, so we trailed behind a ways!

Dad was so excited for us to come. He always comes to Utah to see us, but for us to take the time to go out to his place means a lot. I just know it.

Jaiya was beside herself with all the room to play ( and by room, I mean, 1120 acres) and the fun things to do. We unfortunately don't have miniature horses hanging around to go on buggy rides like Papa Dugan! Our first night there Jaiya woke up to see Papa and she didn't leave his side until we forced her to go to bed.

-unfortunately I only got pics of the first day. My stupid camera battery died.

Look at this face...She was in seventh heaven...

Jaiya and Boon. They became friends in an instant. She loves doggies!

Jaiya jumped 80% of the time we were there. Madyson, Kathy's granddaughter came to play, as well as Rietta (a little girls who's dad works on the nearest ranch. The Wine Cup. Owned by the owners of Reebok.) ) and they all jumped til they couldn't jump anymore. Daddy and Mommy have decided we might need to invest in a trampoline this year.

Dad n Kathy's house.

priceless.

After this pic, dad got out the buggy and got one of the mini's to pull it. ( I have pics...coming soon) Nuisance is the Momma Mini and she bucked with Jaiya twice. Ha. Jaiya was nervous but she didn't even cry! Good thing Dust and I had her arms so she didn't fly off!

When we got to Dad and Kathy's Friday night, Kathy mentioned that Dad wanted to take us in to Elko for some "basque" style food. Basque? Hmmm...sure! Turns out, it's beyond good. Every single thing you get is delish. This is how it works: They sit you like banquet seating. Long rows of tables. They bring you out a BIG bowl of yummy soup with cabbage, tomatoes, celery, etc. It seriously looks like it is made just for you. They also give you a loaf of homemade bread. Then comes the salad... And then the sides, green beans, beans, spaghetti, etc. And then, you order your own meat, and that comes last. If you're a steak eater, it must be amazeballz cause Dust loved it. And if you like seafood, I had some yummy crab legs, and Kathy's lobster tail was SO SO good!
pretty good pic eh? I'm pro.

 filet mignon

That night after dinner we went back to the house and some of the people who work on the Wine Cup came to visit and have drinks with dad and Kathy. It's so nice to just relax and visit. No work. No homework. NO HOUSEWORK. I love that I feel like I'm in a Western movie. I mean, I put make-up on and Dad says, "Oh you don't have to get all fancy here." Fancy huh? So the next morning, no make-up. Maybe next time I'll remember my boots though. I know dad was secretly laughing at my flip flops in God's Country. I mean, how stupid can I be? It's pretty much dirt, stickers, and poop, and I brought flip-flops?! I thought we were country folk, until this trip...;) At least Dust remembered tennis shoes. Much better than my version of outerwear.

I thought I better get a pic of dad before I left. His remarks after seeing this pic "I look like a wrinkly G#% D@&# rat!" ha.

And some random pics from the past couple weeks.

Jaiya loves salsa so much, she eats it by the bowl, with a spoon. Yum.

My only alone time with Jaiya in a week. Love my job, but miss my baby!
And the second one... I am back to my natural hair color, and it's so nice not to to have the up-keep of dying or bleaching...We'll see how long this lasts...;)
