Conversing with my Babes

It's true.  I pretty much have in depth conversations with my 1 year old. I forget she's 1. According to Dr. Judy (or as Jaiya calls him, Docto Uvy), she is very advanced cognitively. As a human being I'm proud, but as a mommy I want to cherish her baby-ness forever, and I don't know that I'm quite in to the fact that she is learning quicker than normal. It already goes by too fast. She doesn't need to be selfish with her smarts and hurry it up even more, right? (Jaiya, when you read this one day, I'm mad!) Ok, not really. Be smart. It's better in the long run.

But, the purpose of this post is to tell you her latest thing. She has started saying "too" at the end of everything.
Here are a few frequent sentences...

"Dora on, too!"
"Sit by Jaiya, too?!"
"Eat, too!"
"Go bye bye, too!?"

And the list goes on. It's so cute. Too cute not to document.

She has also been "pretending" so cute lately. She is a good lil' mommy to her cute babies. I don't know how she does it? She juggles being a mommy to many really well.

And just to ramble even longer. I am SO looking forward to my new purchases this week. They should be coming in the mail any day now! Here are my recent purchases:

Zella "live-in" leggings. Great for working-out or dressing them up with a cute long t-shirt/sweater. You can find these here. Gotta hurry cause the Nordstrom Anniversary sale ends next week!!!

A leather messenger bag similar to this one. Found here.

A new swimming suit, similar to this one found here.

And we cannot forget little miss JJ. She is getting some new shoes that you can find here.

     these in turquoise

And these cuties! I can't wait.

Hmmm. Maybe I shouldn't have made a detailed list. That may be used as ammunition next time I want to buy something by the hubs. That wouldn't be good.

Happy "hump day" tomorrow!

Mamma Sloth

Ok all you mamasita's....

What's your "energy" trick? I'm not always lackin', but for those few days a week that I am, I want advice!

Is it...
A certain drink?
Super foods?
A schedule?
Something you've stopped doing?
I want tips.

I pretty much know why I'm sluggish on some days. I won't lie about that. So, I'm gonna tell ya'll what I'm doing wrong. Cause with all you will soon find out, I do some stupid things. And, I need some good advice. The "Cold, Hard truth," if you will.

Here are the 2 MAJOR issues I'm dealing with, that even a goldfish could tell ya are the reasons I'm sluggish on some days.

I HAVE to have alone time. I don't care when, or how, but it has to happen. If not, I feel like I'll snap from being spread too thin throughout the day. If I am at home all day, or at work all day, I get claustrophobic and need a minute. But my sluggish issue is mostly on work days. So, when I've just got home from my shift at the hospital, I give my princess J lots and lots of hugs and kisses, ask her about her day, and then its bed time. Here's where the problem is. What I should do is go to bed and get as much sleep as my Jaiya bug gets, or I should wake up before her and get some things done before she wakes up. Nope. I don't do that. It's usually me and Jaiya home alone at night, so... If she's in bed, I want to watch my DVR, lifetime, or surf the world wide web, or blog, and of course I need a loooong bath. After all that, it's pushin' midnight and I am so tired when jaiya wakes up. (yes, I require more than 8 hours of sleep) so there's problem #1. I get my alone time, but probably at the wrong time. Darn.

Number 2 could be my diet. Oh for the love, do I even want to share this? well, here goes... It sucks. I actually enjoy eating healthy and trying new healthy things, but come on, when you're a mom trying to work and with the oddest shift ever, your diet takes a humongous nose dive. Or ceases to exist. Ok, so when I wake up, I feed Jaiya and take the next 2 hours to do whatever needs to be done around the house. Which is usually a lot. So, therefore, mamma bear eats at 10-11am. Then I'm to work by noon. Not hungry. And I don't eat until I'm so hungry that the only thing that reminds me to eat is my "paralysis of the whole body" (that's a self diagnosis). Literally. My blood-sugar drops and I'm useless. Then, after NOT getting dinner,( because it's only served between 6-6:30, and if I have even one patient I could miss it), I come home around 9, and sometimes forget to eat, or I eat goldfish. Which is extremely healthy, right? Oh and I drink pop, lots of it. And I'm not telling how much...(52 oz. mug) disgusting huh? But I lub it!!!!

Now that my "recognition" and "denial" steps are out of the way, let's hear it. Cause I know, it's pathetic. It sounds like an easy fix, and it probably is. But, I want to know what YOU do to stay energized, and how you find your "alone time" throughout the day?  You don't have to be a mom to give me advice. For heck sake, you could be a toddler and give me better advice than what I'm currently doing.

Morning Routine. Every morning.

I am so blessed to wake up to this beautiful face every day...

I just have to share with you how every morning at our house goes...

Jaiya wakes up around 8-ish, give er' take a half an hour, and yells from her crib:
 "mamma, I wake."

"mamma!" (meanwhile, I'm trying with all my might to peel open my sleepy, heavy eyelids.)

"mamma. Eat. Pweas."

Finally I've mustered up the small amount of energy I have in my system in the morning (I'm SO not a morning person and envy you who are!) and go in to see my beautiful baby girl standing in her crib.

As soon as I enter the room she starts sighing and saying "awwwwwww" in the most enthusiastic way possible. It's so cute. Even in the morning. And then she gives me a big hug and lays her sweet lil head on my shoulder, awww-ing and now patting my back!

"mamma tied-owed?" (tired)

Me: "yep, mommy's tired."

Then I plop her on the couch with her blanky, a sippy with chocac (chocolate in jaiya talk) milk, and some sort of fruit. I flip on the DVR'd Dora, and sink into the couch til I am fully awake. If I do happen to dose off, jaiya yells, "wake up!" "wake up mamma!" and slaps me on the head! It's lovely. Or she won't let me sit on a separate couch and she says, "sit by jaiya, pweas," so of course, with her cute little toddler lisp I can't resist! And I cuddle with my baby! (she will hold the title of "baby" until she's 30 probably, and even then it may not stop, but I'm fully aware my 1 year old is a toddler and it's going by too fast!) Love my mommy life. Its busy. Especially with every day duties like work, and school (soon), and taking jaiya everywhere I know exists so she can have a fun summer, but I wouldn't change a thing. I am exactly where I have always wanted to be in life.

Here's a quote to think about:
"In between goals is a thing called life, that has to be lived and enjoyed." -Sid Ceaser

so there ya have it people, reach your goals in life, whatever you strive to be, but don't forget to enjoy...

Round 3- Any readers?

I have posted in the past that I'm curious who is reading my blog...I get cute messages from people I don't know, and I feel so bad that I don't reciprocate and read/comment on there's! But I am also doing this because last year when i gave my blog a face-lift, I lost all of the people on my blog list, and added blogs back slowly as people left comments or as I blog-hopped...I was reminded of that this morning and figured I'd try this again so I can get my list back together! Whether I know you or not, I'd like to be "blog friends"... So leave a comment!

IHC and ME

Cheesy title, I know. But, that's ok, because I am so stoked (do people still say that?) about my new JOB. Yes, I am now an IHC employee at the Sevier Valley Medical Center in Richfield. It came as a complete shock, to say the least, that something opened up. I have been hired as PRN (as needed)so the hours are all over the place. Again, nothing I'm picky over considering it's a job!

More work/school related news, I am no longer doing Sonography. When I tell people that, I immediately get condolences and they look at me like, "You poor thing, you were so excited..." Yes, I was excited, but this is NOT bad news. I had a "talk" with my boss, and if I want to have a future at SVMC, sonography was not the way to go. A while back, I was going back and forth between CT and Sonography, and I ultimately decided on sonography because I thought that it would make me more marketable. I knew I was gonna have to be lenient considering we live in a small town and jobs are minimal. So, CT/MRI was tied for first place in career options and I just simply moved from one to the other. I start in August, and I am looking forward to this being the last year and a half of school. I have spent 6 1/2 years of my life in college, and I can now see the light and the end of the tunnel. It feels awesome.

So, because blog posts are boring without a pic or two, I have some pictures of my first day as an "official" radiographer.

And, I know most of you have had iPad's for a while, but I am thrilled to have typed this post on my brand new iPad. I'm not one to get all ecstatic over technology, but this was an excellent investment! Thanks to my honey for randomly deciding to get me one!

Happy Birthday to the USA!

Oooh I love small town 4th of July celebrations. It's always so fun to have the whole community get together for food, games, fireworks, rodeo's, and dances.

Jaiya ran in the "Diaper Dirby" in Richfield on the 3rd. Being the wonderful parents that we are,  Dustin and I had her run to us several times at home to get in some good practice time, and we were convinced she was gonna win the $100 savings bond. But, when it came down to the actual race, things didn't quite go as planned.  As soon as they said GO, Jaiya ran and was in the lead, and then she noticed that she had people watching her, so she started dancing and hopping all over....It was hilarious, and we definitely got a good laugh. Looks like we will have to wait til next year for a re-do!
We also went to the Aurora dinner and fireworks that night. Jaiya experienced fireworks for the first time, and the noise scared her half to death! Poor thing.

On the morning of the 4th, I ran in the 5k that they have every year (I had no clue) here in Salina with Danielle and her son Tate. They both are runners...me not so much. If you saw on facebook a while back, I wanted to start running, and everyone responded with trying the Couch to 5K program. Dustin and I did it together, and I am so impressed that I am now considered a runner! Woohoo. Thanks to that tiny little app for helping me out. I didn't stop once during the race, and I didn't come in last, so...I'm a winner, right?! I have no idea where the pics are from the race, but they'll have to be added in later...

4th of July Games

Grandma Mille and Papa Jerry have a BBQ every year. This year, they had the swimming pool set up so the kids could swim and cool off after a morning of games!

Father's Day

Father's day this year was very simple. Just how Dustin would prefer it. It was also very short considering we had only a couple hours together til Dust had to go to work. Dust didn't wake up until noon-ish since he had worked the night before, and he leaves for work between 4:30-5. We did have time to have lunch together, and let daddy open his gifts!

Here are Jaiya's gifts for Daddy

And he also got some cooking utensils for the grill and a thing to wind up the hose....he's easy!;) In a good way!

Oh, and later that day....
 Welcome to fatherhood!
